This is where I’ve been swimming tonight after work. Its a lovely old swimming pool in Leeds, there’s an old fashioned ‘Russian Steam Room’ there too. I had such a lovely time. It’s a grade II listed building and is apparently the only remaining example of council built swimming baths between 1899 and 1904 (so it’s pretty special). There was an article about the pool in the Guardian one day last week about the swimming pool’s first official day of being community led which was new years day, with some class photo’s of kids dressed up as sharks and stuff bombing into the water! Also according to this lady who I visit in the mornings (for work) during the second wold war (when she was in her teens) they used to cover the pool over and turn the space into a dance hall on Saturday nights, imagine that!
